Favourite piece of Contemporary Aboriginal Art
Title- Fruit bats - 1991
Artist- Lin Onus
Australia
Dec 1948--24 Oct 1996
Language Group Yorta Yorta ,Sourthern Riverine regio
Lin Onus was born only child of bill Onus ,a Yorta Yorta man from Aboriginal Community of Cuummeragunja in Victoria and a Scottish mother ,Marry McLintock Kelly. He died prematurely in Melbourne on October 24 ,1996 at the age of 47 and known as a pioneer of the Aboriginal art movement in urban Australia .Moreover, he struggled for indigenous rights .He exhibited 80 exhibition in Australian and international venues. He was the recipient of many awards and appointments of note .Further ,he was appointed as a member of the Aboriginal Arts Board of the Australia Council in 1986 and founding member and Director of Viscopy in 1995.
When i was standing in the basement of the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney ,Australia, studying the contemporary Aboriginal Art i was fascinated with this art work.In his painting ,he interposes 99 fiberglass Arnhem Land -inspired fruit bats ,striped with rarrk(crosshatching ) ,are suspected on a common backyard Aussie Clothes line .He painted in native motive with a Western human construction in order to blend traditional aboriginal heritage with elements of a modern lifestyle. There was littered below were the bats dropping on small discs of flower design ,referencing the flying fox dreaming to which Onus was permitted to access . In other word ,it is a cleaver way to illustrate the role fruit bats in pollinating and dispersing seeds from native plants . Eventually, this piece combines traditional indigenous culture with the suburban Australian lifestyle.
He humorously attacks the suburban sensibility of the clean and neat back yard, contrasting the idea of clean washing bat dropping ,while forcefully bringing nature into this controlled environment. It signifies a contrast between an aboriginal engagement with nature and Anglo -Celtic determination to control or exploit it .The work is humorous but there is an undercurrent of anger in the sculpture.

Reflection on Twitter
Reflection On Twitter
An important tool i learned to use this EAP semester was
Twitter. At present i am extremely uncomfortable
using twitter . However , i will be like an
old hand at twitter in coming
days. It offers me micro - blogging services to communicate via Twitter post (tweets) on
laptops , smartphones and any other devices
with internet access.For me ,It
became an effective teaching and
learning tool in academic studies. I am going to use as a personal and
professional tool after the completion of this EAP. As a registered user i can
share information with peers, easily
communicate with other students that are
considered as real -time news source .In this way, i can get a lifelong learning experience .
Twitter is useful as an academic tool ,it helps in meeting
new people in all disciplines, academic support
for finding new ideas ,people's blogs and publication that definitely
,increased visibility . Through
Twitter, i can meet others who share my research interests. we may be
able to collaborate on group assignments or projects . we can write about anything by using our right of speech. It is useful for academic arguments face to face
and very quickly allows me to
spread the word of my work to other academic audiences. and also allows me to interact with other scholars .Certainly,
twitter makes it possible for me to engage with the global community even though i now
live in Australia .Moreover, it also facilitates real - time chat through the use of hashtags. By creating their own
hashtag, students can invite participants from around the world to take part in
instant research by contributing to a live discussion on any given topic .
Furthermore,it facilitates direct contact with leaders in any given field.
Encourage students to ask questions from world-renowned scientists and thinkers.Above
all, it is limited only to people who are registered users. I would love to use twitter to enhance my research and
Knowledge exchange activities just to have
good academic sense .

Reflection on Delicious Bookmark
The
Delicious bookmark is a social bookmarking site which is very useful for academic study and most efficient way for researchers to browse the net. It help me to create a group to share academic writing resources and also easily join another group to access their resources. In
this way ,it allows me to a
registered users to save links to various websites of interest ,to
tag those link with keywords and to add
descriptions that will make the links to easier
to promote or review .we can easily discover new research study
materials that other have found. For last two months ,i have been using Delicious bookmark as an information designer because it produced all-inclusive in-depth information ,articles ,books, and
subjects for academic research
writing on the internet to which i might
want to refer that will be using for research and my spoken presentation for
speaking assignment .It makes things public .In future assignments ,it will help me in developing an actual working relation with my classmates and other scholars as i will be
added to their networks. Moreover, i can
easily access my bookmarks from any
computer on the web. It will definitely, enhance my academic reading -writing skills and efficiently focus on my brilliant performance.

Email Protocols - Reflection
In the academic
study, using proper email language can create a professional image. Most of the
time it shows work efficiency. Emails that get to the point are more effective
than simply written emails. It serves as an official record of my communication with
the faculty. It should be presented in a professional manner. I have learnt how
to write a good informative subject line in emails that must give the recipient a good idea of the email content. Moreover,
it should be brief and specific with a clear informative title in the subject
box .It is a basic way of politeness to address the recipient at the start of
an email by using their title and last name. For BCC, it is very use full for
us because it protects privacy
of others email address so group email can be sent by blind copy (bcc). An attachment with proper footers and header
including date, page number can be sent easily.
Now I can easily write file name in properly
identified path in footer of documents
.It is helpful in searching for file from
different folders .Taking regular backup
of email can save my all files. Two-step
authentication will make it more difficult for cyber criminals
to breach my account. It could be done with a mobile phone ,a sim, a USB stick
and id
cards .with this technique i can secure my all privacy by changing the password regularly.
Academic
email protocols can help me in practicing to act and respond in a professional way. As an academic student, it
is required to respond in academic culture to relevant subjects with different
topics.
